GPH, in partnership with the Puerto Rico Ports Authority (PRPA), is leading a US$425 million investment project to upgrade and expand San Juan’s cruise berths and terminals, following a competitive RFP win. This 30-year agreement, which marks the first venture by the company in a U.S. territory, focuses on two key areas: the Old San Juan District (Piers 1, 3, and 4) and the Homeport District (Piers 11-14 and Pan American Piers). Planned upgrades include enhancing six existing berths, constructing two new terminals to accommodate large vessels, improving ground transportation and guest experience areas, and upgrading public access points along the Old San Juan waterfront. This project, funded entirely with private capital, aims to elevate San Juan as a premier cruise destination and vital homeport for the region.
