Lisbon: Europe’s Award-Winning Hub for Cruise Excellence
Lisbon Cruise Port serves as a vital homeport and port-of-call for cruise ships navigating the Atlantic coast, Europe, the Western Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Atlantic Islands, and North Africa. In 2014, GPH signed a concession agreement to manage and develop the port, marking the beginning of a transformative era for this key maritime hub.
Under GPH’s stewardship, Lisbon Cruise Port has undergone significant upgrades, resulting in a 55 percent increase in passenger movements, from 521,000 in 2014 to over 810,000 in 2024. Notable developments include the construction of a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose cruise terminal, which features terminal services, retail areas, office spaces, and other essential facilities. These enhancements have elevated Lisbon's reputation, earning it multiple World Travel Awards, including Europe’s Leading Cruise Port (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023) and Europe’s Best Cruise Terminal (2022), solidifying its status as a premier cruise destination.
